The 9th largest and 15th longest in the world, the Brahmaputra, originates at Angsi Glacier, also known as Manasarover , in Tibet, near Mount Kailash. With a length of about 2,900Kms. and basin size of 7,12,035Sq.Kms., the river flows through China, India and Bangladesh. For a length of 1, 625 Kms. the river passes through Tibet and enters India through Arunachal Pradesh and to Assam. Brahmaputra river supports the lives of over 130 million India's and Bangladeshis as a major source of irrigation and an inland waterway.
