Tapti River- Surat City

River Tapti flows from east to west , through the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, over a length of 724 Kms.origrinating at Satapura Range in Betul district in Madhya Pradesh,in the Deccan plateau at an elevation of 752 meter above sea level , the river flows roughly parallel to Narmada river to the north from which it is separated by the main part of Satapura range. Totally covering a basin of 16,145  Sq .Kms, the Tapti river finally confluences with golf of Khambat into the Arabian sea. Surat is the major city on the banks of Tapti River.
